Wednesday's are changing here on Oldman's Inspirational Thoughts. Those who like the Wordless Wednesday segment, don't fret, I will still do them from time to time when life is busy and I don't have much time. Also, I will continue to post a pic with the new Worship Wednesday theme.
So, what is Worship Wednesday? I encourage everyone to join me in worshipping our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ here on Wednesdays. I will be offering many stories, videos, mini Bible studies, and praises. Feel free to fill the comments with some Amens! If there are any suggestions or if there are any segments you would like to see here please let me know. If you have any submissions you would like to submit let me know. Well, without further ado here's
Worship Wednesday
I received this email from my Sunday School leader the other day and thought I would offer this up as a Food for Thought.
Morning everyone,
I thought this was so true, and something that we need to be reminded of. I hope you get 'meat' from it .... something to "chew on" and gain strength from.
Daniel 3:17-18 "The God we serve is able to save us from it ... But even if He does not, "
Facing the fiery furnace, the three Hebrew children refused to compromise their beliefs or change their behavior. They told the king, "If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and He will rescue us from your hand ... But even if He does not ... we will not serve your gods." With those words, "even if He does not" they took their faith to a higher level. They knew God could prevent it, but not that His plan called for it in this instance. But they'd rather die than deny or disappoint Him. Understand this: God can take you out of your situation or bring you through it. When He leaves you in it longer than you'd like to stay, He's developing -- furnace faith.
Furnace faith is dead to doubt and blind to impossibility. It reaches up through the threatening clouds and lays hold of the One Who has all power in heaven and on earth. It makes the circumstances bearable and the future hopeful. Furnace faith believes that even if you do have to go through the fire, God will go through it with you. Listen to the words of a heathen king who watched it all happen: "I see four men loose, walking in ... the fire, and they have no hurt; and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God: [Daniel 3:25]. Furnace faith makes you as free in the fire of affliction as you are out of it. Furthermore, when your friends see the Lord in there with you, it'll convince them like nothing else.
Think on this as well....
Isaiah 30:18-21
Yet the LORD longs to be gracious to you; He rises to show you compassion. For the LORD is a God of justice. Blessed are all who wait for Him! O people of Zion, who live in Jerusalem, you will weep no more. How gracious He will be when you cry for help! As soon as He hears, He will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more; with your own eyes you will see them. Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, "This is the way; walk in it."
To me this says that He does not want us to have to go thru difficulties, but knows that we will .... and He wants to be there with us all the way. He wants to, He longs to, share all of it with us, to teach us, to reveal to us, to grow us, to guide us.... through everything and anything. When we call on Him in sincerity, not as a genie in a bottle, He will not only hear us and listen to our true need, He will answer and respond. He longs to!
As Scripture says, God's Word is new every morning .... because it always has something to tell us, to reveal to us. Breathe it in.
